School & Library Visits

From single classroom visits to multi-grade assemblies, I’m excited to work with you to plan a program that fits your curricular needs and ignites a love of reading and writing in your students.

“Carrie Kruck is amazing! Her presentation was engaging and thoughtful. Our students enjoyed hearing her writing process. Carrie connected with our students in so many ways especially with their love of reading. She also gave them an understanding they can write their creative stories.”

~Joyce Yoo Babbitt, Dothan Brook School Librarian

“Carrie was absolutely wonderful with our students! From the moment she began reading her book, Alfred Blooms, the kids were engaged, excited, and eager to learn. The story aligned beautifully with our science curriculum on pollination and pollinators, making it not only fun but educationally meaningful. Carrie brought such joy and energy to our school — it was clear how much she cared about connecting with the students. This visit was truly a highlight for our students and staff alike, and I know it left a lasting impression on everyone involved.”

~Amelia Morton, 2nd grade teacher, Raleigh NC

What can you expect at a School Visit with Carrie Kruck?

An Exploration of Story

In a deep-dive “read-together” of the book of your choice, we’ll explore language and meaning, discover surprises in the art, and examine elements of book construction as part of the storytelling experience. We’ll ask questions, make hypotheses, and uncover connections to our own lives and the world around us.

Play & Interactivity

Children experience picture books with their whole bodies - they listen, they look, they repeat, they question, they play act, they touch, and they wonder…and my school visits always honor that, incorporating movement, play, and interactive participation.

Sparks of Inspiration

Using the inspirations behind my own books, we’ll grow our own “story seeds” through group brainstorming exercises designed to help students embrace the “blank page” with a sense of adventure. As we create stories together, we’ll experience writing and revision as playful and collaborative.
